Finally the snow has melted and it was a bit warmer here. But I have a cold...
I finished and sent back that quilt and also sent out my Dear Jane Christmas swap blocks... Tomorrow I will be doing my last minute Christmas shopping, the list is still quite long, I need to hurry!

On the quilting side, I did those 2... We had snow those 2 last days, what a mess... Temps are still cold but no snow today! I finished reading "Wedding ring" from Emilie Richards, I really enjoyed it! I now started Endless Chain...

Here are some more photos from last November at Shipshe, i will post more in my webshot album...

For me, last week, I finished some blocks for a swap. I just love those Jo Morton fabrics!
I am now making some blocks for the Christmas Dear Jane swap...Photos later...
And I had a wonderful diner with Sandrine's family and Reiko Kato (Japanese well known quilter) and her daughter. Very nice to share friendship through quilting with people from all around the world!

I have been busy quilting those last days, here is one I just finished. The pattern is from Lynette Anderson.

Sharon had her Blue ribbon quilt! Woo hoo!! She is an expert quilter and very productive! And Sandy had her Snowman quilt! I just fell in love with it!

I am going to post more pics in my webshot and tomorrow I will post photos of Shipshewana!

Rest of the trip: One night, I shared a pizza with some friends from a quilting bee.

Then we visited The Quilt Merchant, spent some wonderful time chatting with Docia, Beth and the girls, had lunch with Leanne, missed Teresa, very sad about this...

We went also to A touch of Amish... And we went to Oswego where we shared a delicious lunch with my friends from the Civil War Club, very fun! It is so nice to be with good friends! Mary has finished her Orange Crush, don't you like it Bonnie?

Hi, I am back from a wonderful vacation in Chicago area! I stayed with my good friend Sheri and her generous family! It was really great! My first day there started with a Show and Tell : Monique Dillard from Open Gate participated in a Half square triangles exchange at Prairie stitches in Oswego! So she presented quilts using those HS Triangles plus other quilts! Here we are with Chloe, Sheri's youngest! I am going to post the pictures of the quilts in my webshot... But here is one I could not resist to buy the pattern and the kit!

Back to quilting this week! I finished this blue one for a friend. The next one is already loaded on the machine! I just love quilting, it gives life to the quilt!
And I finished the binding on my first DJ siggies quilt from the 2006 swap. My kids love to look at where all the blocks come from!

Very nice day yesterday with an Australian quilting friend Bev and her daughter Claire and Will ! The weather wasn't the best but we had fun! Sharing quilting ideas is so great! Some of Will's hand sewing projects, aren't they cute? I just love the rickrack red handles!

What a week end! The Halloween party went very well, I survived!
On Saturday, I went to Normandy to spend time with some quilting friends! They were having a quilting retreat so I joined them for the day. Not lucky with the weather while driving, rain and rain and rain... But when I arrived there, it stopped raining for a while so we went on the beach... It was very nice. Kids are home for a 10 days vacation.

Hi, it was a wonderful day yesterday in Paris, sunny and warm enough to stay outside at lunch time with some friends! Randy from CA and Sandrine from Paris...
Today , I am busy preparing everything for tonight. My daughter is having a Halloween party as holidays starts tomorrow... So 35 teenagers will be coming, that's a bit scary for me! Better get busy baking cookies and muffins!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon wandering around the Marche St Pierre, I found some nice toile fabrics!
Today I took pictures of a friend's quilt I finished the other day... It was a mystery quilt from France Patchwork in 2008. I did not like it as a top but with the quilting, I think I love it! I hope it's owner will too!

You know how much I love history and antique quilts, today I am happy I found these, beautiful! I am always impressed by the quality of those antique quilts, the time involved to make them and the wonderful hand quilting! Very inspiring!

The other day I quilted this one for myself, I love Jo Morton, her patterns and her fabrics!

Monday, October 12, 2009

Here is a small table runner I did as a gift from the book "Let's do lunch". I used French fabrics, maybe I should have done some cross hatching to avoid the wrinkles but...I love my quilted pineapples... I added a picture of my little helper, I don't if it is because the weather is getting colder but he loves to stay very very close to me those last days...

Hi, I was so happy the other day when I received back my RR! It is gorgeous thanks to ladies who worked on it : Marj in Australia, my friend Sheri and Wendy in Australia! Thank you so much!
And Wendy sent me an Australian magazine which I never saw, she has one of her quilts in it! Congrats Wendy!
I have to finish my round on Marj's RR... I am half way done and I am sure she is anxious to get it so I'd better hurry!

School has finally started here! Yeah! More free time!

Lately I quilted this one:
I love it but unfortunately it is not mine....
I now have a blue and white Irish Chain on my frame, hope to finish it soon!

Some things are changing in my life and I am feeling much better!
I received a book on quilts from The Winterthur Collection, what a great book! So many wonderful quits! And interesting historic info on fabrics...
Talk to you soon...

And for my own pleasure I added borders on the center top my friends made me while they were at the Spring Dear Jane retreat! It still needs to be quilted, it will have its turn after I am done with my friends tops... I love it! The border is also a fabric from Brenda Papadakis, it was perfect for it!
I am going back to quilting, one more to go before Friday! And this one is a big one!
Have a great day!

Still quilting here, I love it! It is very interesting when people give you tops really different from what you usually do! I love the challenge! I did circles on the strippy one, different sizes, concentric ones... I played around! And on the diamond one I did leaves...
