Today is a great day! We finally do have internet!! It feels so good to be again connected with the world! And even better, I got to talk to my best friend Sheri! I am so happy!
I received a post card from my daughter who is visiting London, she says: Mom, don't worry, the family is very nice with me and the food is good!

On the quilting side, I loaded on the machine a quilt that my friends made me when I left Belgium for the US. A friend of mine, CJ, had it basted on her machine for me, then I hand quilted the center, big stitches but didn't know what to do for the borders. So I decided to practice free hand feathers with little drawing, it is not perfect but I am quite happy with it. I did 2 borders and will do the 2 others tomorrow and will post a picture...

As you can see, I found a place where I can have a good internet connection! So I uploaded some pictures. And here are the ones from Dona's quilt! Those quilts are going back to Belgium this week end with Chantal!

The other day I quilted Caroline's quilt, here is a picture and a close up, hoping she will be happy!

Quilting on my Long arm in Paris!

Sunny day here in Paris! Yeah!
I have been busy quilting on my long arm Japanese flowers for Jocelyne, I hope she will like them!

Hi, it is a gorgeous day here in Paris! Nearly 80F!! I am still not connected to internet so it not easy to write very often...
Here is another block I did for my wool applique quilt, I really love these!
I have been quilting lately, yes my Long Arm is now happily running!
I also worked on a mini Round Robin, it is challenging but so much fun! I am sending this one out to Australia on Monday!

Tomorrow my daughter is leaving for London for 4 days, departure is at 4:30 am... Not fun for me!
But she is excited and will try to meet with a friend she has from Naperville!
Have a great day! Val

Today, I went to WHSmith, the English bookstore in Paris and I found The Scarecrow from Mickael Connelly!!!Yeah, I am going to go to bed early this evening! Then I went to the Eiffel Tower and on my way I thought of my online friend Julie as I walked by The Australian Embassy!

Last Thursday I went with a friend to a little local quilt show which was very friendly. A lot of Japenese inspired quilts and bags... Not exactly what I prefer but the work was well done. After that, we went to visit an old button factory, very interesting! I saw buttons very very small, the right size for Hitty clothes! They were made by the kids... They were made from mother-of- pearl so you had leftover shell everywhere in the village... They stopped producing buttons there in 1970 as they are now mostly made from plastic. The secret of dying was very protected and they never found any writting about it so even today they have no clue of how it was done...They just know that it was with chemicals...

No picture today, internet is way too slow... sorry...

It is not easy as I still do not have internet at home but I came today at my dad's and was so happy to talk to my BFF Sheri!!! She made my day!
Friends are so important!
Now I feel like I can do a lot today!
Thank you so much Sheri!
